The CE marking indicates that EU legislation has been complied with in the manufacture of the product, where the product is then manufactured in the world and it allows for free movement within the European market. By affixing the CE marking to a product, the manufacturer declares on its own responsibility that the manufacture of the product has been done in accordance with all legal requirements to be followed in order to achieve CE certification, the CE certification allows the free movement and sale of products throughout the European Economic Area. CE marking is intended for the national market surveillance and enforcement authorities.
CE marking means that the product complies with all ec directives that apply. For example, most electrical products must comply with the so-called Low Voltage Guidelines of the EMC Directive. The marking does not indicate that the product is manufactured in the EEA. The product manufacturer has verified that the product complies with all applicable EC requirements, such as safety, health and environmental protection, and, if stated in any Directive, has had the product examined by a registered assessment body.
