LCD 1 / LCD / LCD3 : Show the working frequency on display

After the mobile phone signal amplifier is turned on, LCD 1 and LCD 3 will always be illuminated and visible.

LCD 2 Show the working frequency. In the right table you can see the corresponding networks supported by the signal amplifier.

LCD 4: “ISO” Insulation Alarm Indication

If the signal amplifier does not have enough *insulation between the inner and outer antennas, the “ISO” will flash on the display. If this issue is resolved, “ISO” will no longer be visible.

*Insulation can also mean distance or space between the 2 antennas

LCD 5: “Alc” Too Strong Reception Indication

When the signal amplifier receives an TOO strong signal from the outer antenna. The signal is drowned out and“Alc”starts flashing. If the signal is no longer too strong,“Alc”switches off on the display.

Options:

  • Move position of the outer antenna until the Alc alarm is no longer visible
  • You can do nothing! In that case, the signal amplifier was adjusting its signal itself. But if the fault continues and the signal indicates more than 30dB, adjust the antenna anyway.

Cell Phone method:

hiboost outer antennaYou can use the phone to test the signal strength at the window or on top of the building. The number of bars on the network indicator will approximately define the strength of the received signal..

Normally the roof of the building is the best place to receive the strongest signal. As on the graph on the right, you need to test the signal at points from A to E, choose a spot with the best signal strength for outer antenna installation. It is recommended to use a mobile app that can display the signal level, as this is more accurate than the bars on your display.

LCD 6: There is no signal amplification.

LCD 7: Strengthening or power indication.

The displayed value shows in real-time the power it emits, when the signal has an output power which is lower than 10dBm LCD 6 and LCD7 will give “

If the LCD screen is on “OFF” and the signal amplifier is turned off, the LCD will flash.

If the LCD screen is on “ON” and the signal amplifier is switched off, LCD6 and LCD7 will display “OFF” at the location of the frequency band.

Control buttons description.

To begin with, press the “LCD KEY” once the Display is in circular mode, the display will display the (gain) amplification and outgoing amplification (output power values) every 30 seconds.

Briefly press the “LCD KEY” to take the display out of circular modes and press it again to move to the next status screen.

(If you don’t impression the “LCD KEY” within 30 seconds, it will go back to circular mode.)

If you do nothing for 5 minutes the Display will go to “OFF” mode press a key to turn it back on.

You can always press the “LCD KEY” button so that the Display remains in outgoing signal strength mode and in the case of a dual band amplifier you can press the “LCD KEY” again to switch to the outgoing signal strength of the other frequency.

Manually set signal strength

Because the signal amplifier is digital and uses intelligence software (AGC – Automatic signal weakening) manually setting the weakening is basically not necessary.

Except for those cases when you do see the ISO and ALC flashing on the display, or in exceptional cases that the failure is too high that you have to manually adjust it.

  • Turning 0-270 degrees means 0-31dB
  • Turn clockwise to weaken the signal
  • Turn counterclockwise to amplify the signal.

Note

If you want to adjust the weakening or amplification of the signal again. please note that the “Uplink Gain” is the same or 5dB less than the “Downlink Gain” to avoid interference with the mobile network.

More Tips

Try to get signal from cell towers that are not so crowded, you can estimate this by the population density in the area where the one transmission tower is placed by the telecom provider.

It is also recommended to avoid choosing a cell tower near a supermarket, shopping centre, stadium and any other public place. It will be easier to achieve successful phone connections and higher data speed services if you observe this tip.
